Neither one of those 2 places would be my choice for BBQ in Rome. I was born and raised in Rome and know both restaurants well. The next time you are here try taking a ride down Dean or Maple Sts, between Rome and Lindale. Troy's used to be the number 1 place to get BBQ, when I was growing up, their pork bbq and the Brunswick and Irish stews were delicacies. The Irish stew was my personal favorite, with rather large chunks of tender beef, potatoes and carrots in a rich beefy broth. Another place you simply must try is Pick O' Deli, it's not BBQ but the homestyle cooking is very good with a large selection of dishes. Thank you, I liked your article a lot I hope you keep writing it. Your friend in spirit, Pamela Burnette

Did you try Melody Lane? :o)
Hello! Not yet, it'll be a few days before we can get over there, but I'm looking forward to it.
