Hi,

I loved reading your posting about this restaurant. I am from Lancaster County, Penna, and stopped at the recommendation of someone from Atlanta while on a roadtrip. I heartily concur about the shoo-fly pie: it was the best that I've EVER had. Also, the best molasses taste that I've yet encountered. I enjoyed the rest of the meal too: roast beef, greens, and the salad.
This might be O/T, but living in the touristy Penna. Dutch area that I do, I have to say that the "family style" restaurants in this area are nothing more than glorified country kitchens. The chicken and beef dishes that they serve can be had anywhere else: it's just that Mennonites or Amish prepare them here and they cash-in on that with tourists who don't know any better. Yoder's is proof that you can do better elsewhere. Also, traditional Penna. Dutch dishes include a fair amount of organs: heart, liver, tongue, kidneys and so forth. Of course, they *dare* not serve that, never mind that people already eat them in hot dogs and so forth. :)
Thanks for the review!

Oh, yes, the shoofly pie truly is special. My daughter and I were just talking about it this weekend. I'm very glad that we took the time to try this place! Thank you for reading.
