I drive that stretch of I-95 a couple of times a year, passing by Brunswick in time for dinner. I'll have to check this place out. I have a great (and easy!) recipe for Brunswick stew on my blog if you get the urge to make your own: http://mommyporch.blogspot.com/2010/03/winter-rotation-brunswick-stew-with.html

Lynn, that does sound like a good recipe. We will try that one day. Thanks!

I live about 2 miles from The GA Pig and there are some other places you might not know about. If you keep traveling past GA Pig toward I-95 and go another 4 miles down there is a little place called Gary Lee's. It's not so much a sit down restaurant but more of an old time grocery (although there are tables to sit at inside). He has DELICIOUS bbq and other smoked meats such as ribs, pork chops, chicken, and sides. It is super yummy. I also saw you mentioned Glennville. That is where I grew up...not much there. Good news though...they have a new bbq restaurant called The Rusty Pig that has the best Brunswick Stew I have ever eaten! So zip through there again and try it out!

Hi, Rebecca! I spotted the Rusty Pig when we came back from this trip, and added it to Urbanspoon. I'm glad to see your recommendation. We've already got the eating on our next trip (next week!) planned, but hopefully we can swing by one of those in August. Thank you for reading!

I recommend Gary Lee's also. We always get the pork sandwiches or pork by the pound to go. They are generous with the sauce, but it's so good I request extra. Wonderful local food. (But they're probably closed on Sundays ... maybe Mondays also).
