Next time you're in Greenville you need to try "Bates House of Turkey". It's a little turkey restaurant right off of the interstate that has been there at least 50 years I would guess. Story goes that for a wedding present the couple who owned it were given turkey babies and told to have at it. They started a turkey farm and restaurant later on. They're not the nicest folks that I've ever met but MAN, the smoked turkey is THE BEST THAT I HAVE EVER HAD. Before Bates I would have happily sworn off turkey for the rest of my life but now I see a use. I'm not a fan of their turkey salad (sweet relish? Really) but try the smoked turkey sandwich. It is fantastic!

I know of it - they certainly have enough billboards - but have never stopped there. Maybe one day!
